Super Saturday with Dr. Belinda Karge and Ms. Roxane Moore
Using Fingerplays, Flannelboard Stories and Adapted Supports to Enhance Curriculum to Include All Preschool and Kindergarten Children. This presentation provides many practical ideas for using finger plays, flannelboard stories and puppets to adapt the core curricula and supplementing literacy activities for young children. It also includes many hands-on examples and ideas that are meant to be implemented immediately in the classroom. All of the methods that will be shared have been research-based and/or field-tested with children with and with out diverse special needs ages 2 to 5. The presenters will share various strategies that have been used with students from various cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic backgrounds as well as students with disabilities. All strategies can be tied to early literacy standards. This presentation will meet the needs of both new and veteran educators and parents.

Super Saturday with Shaun Brown - October 2011
Shawn Brown presented the Super Fun Show workshop held at Dauphin Way Baptist Church to 216 participants from seven counties – Baldwin, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Monroe, Washington and Mobile Counties. Participants gained an understanding of how movement activities can support social/emotional development and planned classroom activities designed to facilitate language skills using puppets. Participants included center directors, Mobile County head start program teachers, child care classroom teachers, family child care home providers, and support staff. GRCMA provided door prizes such as educational CD’s to participants to help boost what they had learned as well as to help enhance children’s learning and development in the classrooms. This high energy presentation was a celebrated favorite.
Super Saturday with Dr. Debra Peppers
GRCMA Early Childhood Directions sponsored a super Saturday training event in October at Dauphin Way Baptist Church in Mobile. Our special guest, Dr. Debra Peppers, entertained over 145 participants from Baldwin, Escambia, Mobile and Jefferson with her motivational presentation on “Positive Interactions: It's What You Say and How You Say It.” She introduced to participants the importance of communication skills with parents, children and teachers. The evaluations showed that the participants were excited to be able to learn about communication while also allowing them to meet and exchange ideas.
