gain peace of mind knowing that you are well trained and capable. Prospective
and current employers will be impressed with your abilities and your ambition to
improve the quality of child care you give. And you will have the personal
satisfaction of accomplishment and confidence that comes with fine-tuning your
talents.
Shine In Your Profession
Being a child care provider has to be the most important, occasionally the
most difficult, and generally the most rewarding career you can choose. Truly,
you are a special person. But providing the best possible care for children
takes more than these natural gifts. It takes skills and knowledge that can only
be gained through continued learning.
STARS, the Specialized Training Achievement Recognition System, is a career
development method specifically designed for child care providers reaching for
higher goals and a pointed career path. STARS requires a combination of
continuing education classes mixed with guided, hands-on training. Training
provides you with new theories, and also shows you how to apply them in the real
world. And our staff of qualified, experienced advisors are always there to
offer encouragement and support.
Walk Among The STARS
We know that professional development is an ongoing process. Practitioners
enter the field with various degrees of training and therefore different
educational needs. There are five different levels in STARS guiding the special
training you need to advance in your career and to the next level in the system.
Each application to STARS is thoroughly reviewed by our board of early
childhood experts, and levels are assigned based upon education, experience,
skills and area of specialization (if applicable).
