Making a Difference...One Family At A Time!
Sasha P.
Sasha P. is Early Head Start Mobile’s first Policy Council Chairperson. Sasha has one son in Early Head Start at Goodwill Easter Seals. When she enrolled Sasha was unemployed with 3 children under 5 years old. At the first Parent Committee orientation meeting Sasha was voted as Parent Representative to the Policy Council; and later to Policy Council Chairperson. Shasha’s leadership skills quickly emerged as the first year progressed. She now is an active member of the GRCMA, Inc. Governing Board. During the first unannounced federal review, Sasha confidently participated in the interview, responding knowledgeably about program governance. One of Sasha’s goals was to find employment. She was hired at Winn Dixie as a part time employee. Within a few months those leadership skills and self-assurance became apparent to the management at Winn Dixie. Sasha has been promoted to Customer Service.
