Early Head Start Mobile! Policy Council

The Policy Council is the governing body of the Early Head Start MObile! program, and works in collaboration with the GRCMA, Inc. Board of Directors through what is called Shared Governance. It is comprised if enrolled parents elected from Early Head Start Centers and community representatives elected by the Policy Council. During Policy Council meetings representatives review, share input, and vote on matters such as:

Personnel/Employment
Financial Reports
Policies and Procedures
Application for Funding
Program Informatioon Reports

Policy Council Members are provided continuous on-going training to best equip them with the tools to be successful.

Self Assessment

The Early Head Start Mobile! Self-Assessment is administered each year in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards. Parents, Policy Council and Governing Board members, Early Head Start Program Director, Program coordinators, Center Directors, Advisory Committee members, and Community partners work on teams that visit each center and review plans and records. The process includes interviews, observations, recordings, and interactions to verify that the program is in compliance with Federal Performance Standards. Recommendations for program improvements are made by the self-assessment teams
